Portraits

This series of portraits tries to explore the identity of some of the parents and relatives of the 43 missing students of Ayotzinapa. All of them are people of humble origin, farmers, masons and workers. Some of them almost don't speak Spanish, since they come from the most marginalized and remote areas of the state of Guerrero, where indigenous languages are spoken.

These portraits were made as they attended to meetings in the Ayotzinapa school and others during searches in Iguala. This is how they look, carrying backpacks with clothes and blankets, some of them wearing shirts about Ayotzinapa and the faces of their disappeared.
